"Our First Christmas" Ornament

This ornament in honor of our first christmas as husband and wife is not only a DIY fail, but even a double fail!

In summer i had the awesome idea of making a tree ornament with a drawing one of our wedding photos. I am in fact quite talented in drawing stills and certain animals, but i have always been terrible at drawing faces and people, let alone drawing ( or rather "engraving") people on wobbly modelling paste with a wooden skewer.

Fail #1: As you can see we turned out more like comic style figurines instead of the relatively pretty bride and groom on one of our favorite wedding photos displayed in our living room.

Fail #2: The glitter. My idea was to have a white background and fill the contours with turquoise glitter. The trial on the words" our first christmas" went well, but when i applied the glitter to the bride and groom it landed all over the ornament but not where it was supposed to be. So i had to leave it like that and highlighted the contours with a pencil instead.

Although the ornament turned out completely different from my vision i do love it, and so does MisterT. It is super cute and unique and will remind us of our wedding and first christmas as a married couple in future years.
