a custom order of a pink and green bridal bouquet with paper and felt flowers. Such an awesome color combo! Even my husband totally fell in love with it and can't stop staring at the flowers :))
Tulips
Isn't this tulip bouquet adorable? Two of my ( now former) co-workers gave it to me on my last day at work. This is such a wonderful gesture, especially because we only knew each other and worked with each other for four weeks.

One month later
So, it has been almost month since my last blog post. Why? Because my new job keeps me busy and the only thing i am able to do in the evenings is to fall onto the couch to rest my legs, eat and watch TV.
It's a nice job that allows me to craft while being at work from time to time, like making these sets of wedding stationery:
However, i already quit to start a great new adventure in a hotel next week. Can't wait!
What else happened?
- MisterT will be starting a new job with another company in September, which is great too. Not only is it a much better paid position, but it also means that he doesn't have to get up at 4am in the morning anymore.
- some of my creations were exhibited at the "Etsy Weddings Showroom", but i forgot my camera at home hence did not take any photos. You can see some here:

- my shop is doing well, but as much as i love creating items for brides, i want to add more non-wedding and beach-themed stuff within the next few months
- the premier german issue of Martha Stewart Living is quite disappointing

DIY: Love Birds Love Lock Tutorial
This is the tutorial for the "Love Birds Love Lock" i made for our first anniversary.
Total Time: ca 1 hour
Materials:
- Padlock
- Mod Podge
- Permanent Marker
- Scissors
- Paint brush
- Fabric
A few tips beforehand:
- I used Sparkle Mod Podge because this is the only kind of Mod Podge i have *sad face*, but i think you can use any other formula as well.
- a solid cotton-like fabric seems to work best. I tried satin at first, but it was too flimsy and did not stick well
- test your marker on a non-visible part of the fabric before you start. As you can see in photo below i wanted to use a turquoise marker, but it blurred and i had to use another one.
Instructions: ( it's a bit difficult to explain, but i hope the description is halfway coherent nonetheless)
1. First cut a small piece of fabric, a bit larger than twice the size of the lock
2. Cut a tiny hole into the middle of the fabric and insert the shackle of the padlock
3. Now push down the shackle as far as possible to mark the position of the second hole, remove the fabric and make a small cut for that hole.
4. Pull the fabric over again and stretch it around the edges of the padlock. This will create creases to mark the area in which you can draw/write
5. Draw your sketch, names, date or whatsoever, pull the shackle through fabric again, then cover the front and back of the lock with Mod Podge and flap down the fabric.
6. Cut two slits on both sides of the lock, apply Mod Podge and press down the fabric. Apply more Mod Podge and fold down the rest of the fabric. It's like wrapping a gift.
7. Cut off any excess fabric, apply a generous coat of Mod Podge all around the lock, then hang dry. I used a wooden skewer inserted into a drawer
8. Mod Podge is not waterproof, so once it has dried completely ( after ca. 24 hours) you need the cover the locket with a water-resistant sealant, e.g. Crystal Clear Spray
And that's it!

Our Easter Anniversary
MisterT had those easter treats hidden for me
We started the day with breakfast in bed.
Then we went for a walk and took a photo with a funny turquoise-white striped "1", our new anniversary tradition. I already decided that the next number will have polka dots.
I made a love birds "love lock" to hang onto our favorite bridge. Of course i did not make the actual padlock, but i embellished it with Sparkle Mod Podge and hand-painted fabric with our initials and wedding date. This probably won't last a lifetime, but perhaps we will turn it into another tradition to hang a new lock each year.
Back home we ate ( too much) chocolate cake and spent the rest of the evening on the couch with a few episodes of "Chuck" and the best homemade Chili ever.
The paper gift: A mini coupon booklet in addition to a card. I like giving coupons and had these cute templates pinned from the blog Carrots And Brokkoli.
And a few more impressions from a beautiful but windy and terribly chilly day:

... 1st Anniversary to me and MisterT!
And Happy Easter to everyone else!
This has been such a hard year career-wise and as a consequence financially. This was in fact the worst year we ever experienced as a couple. Some people say the first year of a marriage is the hardest, some say the seventh year is cursed.
Both sayings are probably true and in our case the first year of marriage happened to overlap the seventh year of our relationship. With both being left behind now, i am confident that things will be better real soon. We still struggle tremendously, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and guess what happened this week?
MisterT won two flight tickets to France!! Well, technically i won ( um, again...) because the contest submission form was filled out on my laptop. But no need to nit-pick.
So now we can enjoy two city trips as soon as our monetary situation gets better. I told my parents to sign up too, because obviously not a lot of people are participating in that monthly contest and chances are good they will be selected in one of the next drawings. Too funny!
We're off to celebrate and I'll leave you with a few wedding impressions. I can't share the pro pics yet, so these are some non-professional snapshots ( quite obviously).
Obtaining the marriage license:
A fun gift. Somehow we got into collecting rubber ducks during the years.
Taking informal formals:
A fabulous self-portrait as the first photo on the first day of our marriage ( note to myself: backlit shots don't make much sense):
Waking up to the sound of the waves and a gorgeous ocean view.
Married!
P.S. I have prewritten this post because i don't want to sit in front of the computer on our actual anniversary. So let's pretend today is already Sunday.
