Monogram Mini Yarn Wall Hanging

Materials:

- white yarn
- short rod
- acrylic paint
- scissors
- paint sponge
- Silhouette Cameo + a piece of cardstock ( or a premade letter stencil)

Instructions:

1. Measure the length of the rod. My rod is 16cm long, and since there needs to be some space left on both ends, i will make my yarn piece 13 cm wide and estimated by eye, 18cm long.

2. ( Skip this step if you don`t have a cutting machine)
Open a new file in the Silhouette Studio Software. Create a simple square.

Use the "edit point" function and drag down the center of the bottom edge.

Now scale to shape your previously determined measurements, which in my case is 13x18 cm.

Use the "Text" function and add your choice of letter to the center of the shape.

Now let your CAMEO cut the shape from cardstock.

3. Cut several pieces of yarn the previously determined length. The easiest and fastest way to do so, is by wrapping the yarn around a piece od cardboard, slightly larger than the desired final length.

Make a cut on one end.

4. Now knot all yarn pieces to the rod. Make square knots.

5. Cover the area under the yarn to protect your workspace from any color bleedings.

6. Place the stencil onto the yarn.

7. Mix arylic paint with a tiny sip of water, just to make it a little bit more fluid. Dab the sponge into the paint, then carefully but firmly dab over the letter. Let dry.

8. Once dry, trim the yarn. Fabric scissors are better, but regular scissors will work fine, too.

9. Now add some paint to the edges and let dry again.

10. Attach a piece of yarn or Baker's Twine to both ends of the rod.

11. And for some extra fun: Make a cute little pompom and glue it to the yarn

Et voilĂ !
Your cute little monogrammed yarn thing is finished. Hang it on a door knob, your car's rearview mirror, use it as a gift topper, or give it as a gift to someone special.
