DIY Glitter Deer Head Mod Podge Makeover

A glitter deer head of some kind had been on my DIY Christmas decoration list for years, so naturally this little ornament landed in my cart as soon as I saw it.

It was the last one, and looked a bit shabby already, with glitter coming off around the nose, but who cares for 79 Cent. Nothing a bit of extra glitter and Mod Podge can't fix, right?

Oh why not change the color completely. From boring gold to a nice rich christmas red.

So I applied Mod Podge all over the head, but kept the antlers gold as a contrast.

Glitter, glitter, glitter...

I didn't want to hang it as an ornament but display it in a frame. So I simply cut a piece of cardboard the size of the frame, covered it with Mod Podge and a paper napkin, and attached the deer with hot glue.

Tadaaa! So cute!

Schon seit vielen Jahren wollte ich zu Weihnachten irgendwas mit einem Hirschkopf oder Geweih basteln. Als ich bei Kik diesen Baumanhänger für 79 Cent gesehen habe landetet er natürlich direkt im Einkaufskorb. 
Es war der letzte und er sah doch schon etwas mitgenommen aus, aber das kann man ja schnell mit etwas Glitter und Mod Podge reparieren. Oder direkt mal die Farbe ändern. Rot ist weihnachtlicher und passt besser zur Deko. 
Also schwuppdiwupp einfach den Kopf mit Mod Podge bepinseln und tonnenweise Glitter drüberstreuen. Das Geweih habe ich gold gelassen, als Kontrast. 

Für den Rahmen habe ich ein passendes Stück Pappe zugeschnitten, wieder mit Mod Podge bepinselt, eine Papierserviette drüber gewickelt, und zuletzt den Kopf mit Heisskleber darauf geklebt. 

Fertig! Ist doch süß, oder?
