Painted Tray Makeover
This tray is basically my dinner table. I've had it for at least one decade, and use it every time when i'm snuggled up in my bed and eat while watching TV. Plain white is boring though; time for a makeover!
DIY Dip-Dyed Flowers

Look at these beautiful pink hyacinths! Don't they just scream "spring" and put you in a good mood instantly?
This is not what they looked like though, when i found them at my favorite flower shop. They were leftovers from the weekend, almost wilted, squeezed into a tiny corner, looking sad, sold at a bargain price. Oh, and they were plain white.QTT Dotted Flower Gift Wrap
Today i'm gonna show you how to whip up a cute gift in the most unlikely case you forgot someone's birthday and ran out of pretty wrapping paper.
Quick Large Paper Flowers
I spend hours, even days creating garlands, paper flowers and random decoration for my customers and shop. Every item is made with lots of love, patience and accuracy.
For some strange reason though, when it comes to making stuff for my own events, i am incredibly impatient, and everything needs to be finished within the blink of an eye.
Last week i threw a half-birthday surprise party for my husband, and today I'm going to show you how to make a bunch of large paper flowers within minutes.
Fluffy Shaggy Wool Yarn Tassel Rug
I've been on the hunt for the perfect fluffy shaggy white rug for our bedroom for a while now, but just couldn't find one i loved. They either had the wrong color or a weird texture; even the rugs with a giant price tag wouldn't work. So i decided to make my own.

DIY Corded Yarn Belt
Wow, it's already 4 months since my last blog post. How can that be??
Well, probably because nothing excited has happened since then. I was busy with my regular job, my shop stuff and simply not in the mood for blogging.
A few weeks ago I had to close my Etsy shop temporarily, but i plan to re-open it soon. I really miss making and selling things.
With the shop being on vacation mode, i don't have much to instagram about on @annkaydesign, so I created another account, where i can share totally different random stuff from my life ( e.g. my Lilly Pulitzer addiction) without being afraid of annoying or even losing my customers. You can follow my new personal account here.
But now on to my DIY belt tutorial. It's a cute little thing that matches my new summer shorts perfectly.

In the mood for Pastel Spring
Today i am starting a new series called the "In the mood for..."; a collage of my favorite finds from around the web dedicated to a certain theme or color range. From fashion and beauty to home decor, food and travel. Simply anything that comes to my mind, anything i am in the mood for.
The first day of spring could not have been more beautiful, weather-wise. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and 20°C made me want to burn all my black and grey clothes, scarfs, gloves and boots immediately.
While the last two days had been all grey and rainy again, i am totally in the mood for a pastel spring outfit.

DIY: Dip-Dye Watercolor Tissue Tassel Garland
Today i show you how to make a watercolor dip-dye tassel garland, and create a unique look in your favorite color to match any room or party theme perfectly.
The possibilites are endless, and you can either hang the garland horizontally, vertically or use it as a ballon tassel.
Happy Sunday
February was a very busy month. This is my review in pictures.
1. Another DIY print:
2. What kept me so super busy, aside from my full-time job and my Etsy shop, was this great opportunity to contribute decoration for the Hopespoken event in Dallas in March. I made 20 balloon tassels, 30 giant paperflowers, confetti, and 250 DIY business cards.
3. New glasses:
4. Tulips:
More tulips
5. And drying tulips the good old-fashioned way
6. New pillow covers for the bedroom
7. I participated in the Minimalistchallenge. One day 1, i deleted my Twitter account. After 15 days, i stopped taking photos. Read more about my motivation here
8. After almost three months, the new "thanks" tags for my shop have finally arrived.
9. February was inofficial donut month. Can you guess my favorites?
10. We had lots of ice, but no snow. Lovely frost pattern on Smarty's windshield
Cheers to March, an early spring and a happy Sunday!
