Our beloved cutting board got several cracks all of a sudden, which is a real bummer because a good and solid yet affordable wooden cutting board is hard to find these days.
It is too pretty to throw it away so gave it a quick makeover in four easy steps.
This is what it looked like before:
1. At first I glazed the cutting board with my homemade chalk paint glaze ( grated white children's chalk, white acrylic paint and water).
2. I printed the lettering and a photo of this Anthropologie whisk in black and white and applied both to the board with the same technique that i use for my distressed canvases.
3. Next i accented the edges and cracks with a black grease pencil and smeared the color with my finger.
4. Lastly I applied a thin layer of Crystal Clear Sealant.
