Travel: Warsaw Weekend Getaway

This weekend we finally made our trip to Warsaw. I must admit that i never would have chosen Warsaw or Poland as one of my "must-see" destinations, but the city's Old Town is extremely charming with those beautiful, old and colorful houses and it was well worth a visit.
We stayed at a 5* hotel that definitely does not deserve the fifth star due to the lack of excellent customer service and cleanliness. But we had a nice time nonetheless.

Food for the journey:

Our hotel:

We had booked their " In Love" package but did not receive the complimentary upgrade, and the romantic decoration was missing completely. I don't care, but the staff didn't care either and that makes me angry. Totally inacceptable for a five star hotel.

The beautiful Old Town:

Those funny Hot Spot poles are everywhere

And the supermarkets don't have large windows but are hidden inside the house.

Warsaw's Old Town seems to be a very popular spot to tie the knot. We saw four brides and grooms walking around with their guests to take wedding photos, and we witnessed this ceremony:

This fassade still has lots of bullet holes.

This is the street where we had dinner:

I know MisterT's meat looks like Schnitzel but i swear it is not. We would never, never ever order Schnitzel in a foreign country unless we are truly desperate and about to starve any minute ( or unless that foreign country is Austria)

My Cesar's Salad

And a great looking cheesecake with hot chocolate. It wasn't great at all and the chocolate was super sticky.

And here we are at the aiport already, waiting for the flight back home

Obligatory foot photo:

Obligatory self-portrait:

From sunny 25°C to cold rain and dark grey clouds.

Back home there was this tiny little package from the postman waiting for me:

I finally purchased a Cameo!!!!
