Easter is right around the corner. And although we don't actually calebrate, the whole family will be gathered in our home this year, and i am currently planning the table setting and decoration. This DIY requires some time and patience, as you will have to wait for the clay and paint to dry. But it's fun, and i love the result.
Ostern steht nun fast vor der Tür. Und obwohl wir Ostern an sich nicht feiern wird die Familie dieses Jahr bei uns zusammen kommen, und ich plane gerade die Tisch- und Wanddeko. Für dieses DIY braucht man ein wenig Zeit und Geduld, da man darauf warten muss dass die Modelliermasse und die Farben trocknen, aber es macht Spaß und ich liebe das Ergebnis.
Materials:
- air dry modelling clay
- knife
- acrylic paint
- paintbrush
- painters tape
- patience :)
Material:
- lufttrocknende Modelliermasse
- Messer
- Acrylfarbe
- Pinsel
- Malerkrepp
- Geduld :)
1. Cut the clay into blocks of 2-5cm.
1. Schneide die Modelliermasse in Blöcke, jeweils ca 2-5 cm breit.
2. Cut each block into half diagonally
2. Schneide jeden Block in zwei Teile mit einem schrägen Schnitt
3. Now cut the top side of each piece to create a slit of 3-5mm. This is the slot that will hold the place cards.
3. Schneide einen ca 3-5mm tiefen Schlitz in die Oberseite jedes Teils. Da kommen später die Platzkarten rein.
4. Let the clay dry completely. Then sand each piece with sandpaper to get rid of any bumps and wrinkles.
4. Lass die Modelliermasse komplett trocknen. Anschließend mit Schmirgelpapier abschleifen um eine glatte Oberfläche zu erhalten.
5. Paint the pieces. Use painter's tape to create sharp and straight lines.
5. Male die einzelnen Teile an. Malerkrepp hilft dabei scharfe gerade Linien zu bekommen.
6. Let dry again.
6. Nun alles nochmal trocknen lassen.
And that's it! And after the event, the clay blocks can be used to hold photos, or postcards or recipes, or anything that comes to your mind.
Und das wars! Nach Ostern kann man die Blöcke für Fotos oder Postkarten oder Rezepte oder was auch immer benutzen.
