This tray is basically my dinner table. I've had it for at least one decade, and use it every time when i'm snuggled up in my bed and eat while watching TV. Plain white is boring though; time for a makeover!
This is the tray before:
Materials:
- tray
- acrylic paint in white, yellow and black
- paint brush and paint sponge
- painters tape
- adhesive vinyl
- Silhouette Cameo
Instructions:
As always when working with paint; cover your workspace, and wear old clothes!
1. Line the edges with painters tape, then prime the wooden parts of the tray with white acrylic paint. Let dry.
2. Paint the now-white parts with yellow acrylic paint. Remove the painters tape and let dry.
3. Use the cutting machine to cut a stencil from vinyl. I used this diamond background shape from the Silhouette Design Store.
The cutting process is long, loud and annoying, as always with the CAMEO. Sigh.
4. Stick the stencil to the surface of the tray, carefully but firmly. Make sure it is centered and smooth out any bumps
5. Use a sponge and black acrylic paint to dab all over the stencil. Cover all the the cuttings completely.
6. Let dry, then remove the vinyl.
And that's it!
Dieses Tablett ist quasi mein Esstisch. Ich habe es seit mindestens 10 Jahren und benutze es jedes mal wenn ich auf dem Bett sitze und TV gucke. Aber weiss ist ja sooo langweilig, also höchste Zeit es mal ein wenig aufzuhübschen.
Material:
- Tablett
- Acrylfarbe in weiss, gelb und schwarz
- Pinsel und Malschwämmchen
- Malerkrepp
- Klebefolie/ Vinyl
- Silhouette Cameo
Anleitung:
Bedecke die Arbeitsfläche und trage alte Kleidung, wie immer beim arbeiten mit Acrylfarbe.
1. Klebe die Kanten mit Maler-Krepp ab. Dann grundiere die Holzteile mit weisser Acrylfarbe. Trocknen lassen
2. Nun male die weiss angemalten Teile mit gelber Acrylfarbe an. Ziehe das Malerkrepp ab, und lasse die Farbe wieder trocknen
3. Lass die Schneidemaschine die Schablone aus dem Vinyl schneiden. Ich habe diesen Diamond Stencil benutzt.
Der Schneidevorgang ist lang, laut und nervtötend, wie immer bei der CAMEO. Seufz.
4. Klebe die Schablone auf das Tablett, vorsichtig aber fest. Das Vinyl muss aufgebracht mittig sein und ohne Beulen.
5. Betupfe alle ausgeschnittenen Stellen mit schwarzer Acrylfarbe und einem Schwamm
6. Lass die Farbe trocknen, dann ziehe vorsichtig die Schablone ab.
